Alpaca Comforts

Visitors to our exhibit often remark that they are experiencing the unique warmth and softness of alpaca items for the first time (alpaca is warmer and softer than wool and rarely available in retail stores). We raised alpacas (in Bucks County, PA) and have been selling raw fiber, hand and mill spun yarn, and finished alpaca products since 2004. The fleece shorn from our animals went to our primary supplier, the New England Alpaca Fiber Pool – a Massachusetts based co-op that’s created environmentally and socially conscious fashion since 1996. Made from U.S. grown alpaca fiber, co-op items include scarves, socks, gloves, mittens, and felted shoe/boot inserts. We also sell locally made light- and heavy-weight socks and felted dryer balls and, due to customer requests, added colorful items from South America (all produced according to fair-trade requirements) including glittens (glove-mitten combo), ear warmers, slipper socks, and scarves.
